|Professor Shigeki Goto - Internet Hall of Fame
We are very pleased to announce that Professor Shigeki Goto will deliver a plenary session at APAN 46.
Last year Professor Goto was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in recognition of his work as a Global Connector. He was instrumental in the expansion of the Asia-Pacific Internet, and promoted multilingual domain name (IDN) standards and management organisations.
Professor Goto joins us from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Waseda University – a private, independent research university in central Tokyo.
He is a member of ACM and IEEE, and a trustee of Internet Society from 1994 to 1997. He is a fellow of IPSJ (Information Processing Society Japan) and a trustee of Japan Society for Software Science and Technology from 1993 to 1994.
He was a founding member of the Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) in 1997 and served as chairman from 2004 to 2007. He also chairs the Cybersecurity Research & Development Strategy Committee of Japan's National Information Security Center. His full citation can be found on the Internet Hall of Fame website.
